Happy Easter

updated04/10/14

We are in the midst of the Lenten season, a time which, according to Scriptures, marks Jesus Christ’s final days before His crucifixion. The traditional principle of Lent is the preparation of the believer through prayer, repentance of sins and a focus on charitable acts. For many churches, the period of Lent, represents the beginning of the season with an Ash Wednesday Service that begins a 40 day period of reflection, renewal and study of the Biblical events culminating in the glorious Resurrection----EASTER SUNDAY!!  The Bible also teaches us, that Jesus was raised from the dead, three days after His death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary is commemorated on Good Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus securing for all who believe in Him, eternal life in Christ Jesus. This is the very essence of our Christian faith----as stated in

John 3:16 (NIV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Matthew 28:1-10

“After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." (NIV)

1 Peter 1:3

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...  (NIV)

The Harvesters feel so honored to spread His Gospel in song to as many people as possible.  We encourage individuals to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives. It is our mission to reach as many folks as we can and spread the good news that God loves us and desires that we each have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  We use every opportunity given to us to invite those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, to give your lives to Him.  The following prayer is a first step toward eternal life:

Romans 10:9

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Dear Lord,

Right now I ask for forgiveness of my sin and confess Jesus as the Lord of my life.  With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Therefore Lord Jesus, transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

We wish all of you a Blessed, Happy Easter and hope to see you at an event soon. May God richly bless you and keep you safely in His loving arms is our prayer.
